The Confederation of African Football, CAF, has outlined five important rules that will be enforced during the 2026 FIFA World Cup African Playoffs.
They include stipulations on extra time, penalty shoot-out, substitutions and Video Assistant Referee, VAR.
The directives include:
Extra Time will be played if scores are level after 90 minutes.
Penalty Shootout will decide the winner if needed.
Teams are allowed five substitutions during regulation time.
A sixth substitution is permitted in extra time.
VAR will be in use for all decisive moments.
Nigeria will play Gabon in the first semi-final on November 13, before Cameroon take on DR Congo later in the day.
The winner of both ties will battle it out for the continental ticket.
