Super Eagles striker, Victor Osimhen has hailed Eric Chelle’s men following their 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying semi-final playoff 4-1 win against Gabon on Thursday in Morocco.
Osimhen gave kudos to Super Eagles teammates, insisting that they motivated him.
NEWSUNPLUG reports that the Galatasaray hitman redeemed himself in extra time during Nigeria’s win against Gabon after missing an injury-time opportunity to win the match for the Super Eagles.
The 26-year-old netted a brace as Nigeria advanced to the World Cup qualifying playoff final, where they will face DR Congo on Sunday.
Speaking to reporters after Nigeria defeated Gabon in Rabat, Osimhen said, “For me, it’s important to have teammates who motivate you, even when you are the one who usually motivates others.
“When you are down, they do everything to bring you back up. So for me, kudos to them.”
Osimhen will now hope to continue his goal-scoring spree for Nigeria against DR Congo this weekend.
