Former Super Eagles goalkeeper, Idah Peterside has predicted Nigeria to beat Gabon when both sides clash in the 2026 FIFA World Cup playoffs.
Peterside also predicted Cameroon to beat DR Congo in the other playoffs and set up a meeting with Nigeria.
Speaking with Soccer Beat, Peterside said, “Congo will play Cameroon, Cameroon is a superpower in Africa.
“So we hope Cameroon will beat DRC Congo, and it would be Nigeria vs Cameroon, and in that light, you would see that Africa is producing a giant.
“Africa is bringing strong teams because South Africa has qualified, there is Tunisia, Morocco, Egypt and Ivory Coast, that is what we are saying, the big boys must come to the big boys’ party.”
The World Cup playoffs will take place on 13 November, and the winners of both matches will clash on November 16.
