Stanley Nwabali has said the Super Eagles have not done enough in their bid to qualify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, NEWSUNPLUG reports.

Eric Chelle’s side face an uphill task in their bid to qualify for the global soccer fiesta following Tuesday night’s 1-1 draw with South Africa in Blomfeinteim.

The Super Eagles remain in third position in Group C with 11 points from three games.

The West Africans must now win their remaining two games in the qualifiers against Lesotho and Benin Republic, and pray for favour elsewhere to have any chance of making it to the 2026 World Cup finals.

Nwabali reckoned the Super Eagles should have made a better start to the qualifiers.

“We (as a team) should have made more effort to qualify for the World Cup. We left it very late,” Nwabali told journalist Osasu Obayiuwana at the Blomfeinteim Airport.
