Samuel Chukwueze is optimistic the Super Eagles will beat the Bafana Bafana of South Africa in their 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying fixture, NEWSUNPLUG  reports.

The Super Eagles will be up against Hugo Broos’ men in a matchday eight contest at the Toyota Stadium, Bloemfontein on Tuesday.

Eric Chelle’s men will head into the crucial encounter in a confident mood having defeated Rwanda 1-0 at home last Saturday.

The Super Eagles must, however, beat South Africa to boost their chances of securing a place at the 2026 World Cup finals.

Chukwueze reckoned the hosts will be a tough nut to crack but is confident they can come out with the three points.

The 26-year-old further said they will fight hard to secure the World Cup ticket.

“South Africa is a strong team, they have good players. They are first in the group, but we are Nigeria, and we have a good team to compete with them,” the Fulham star told the Super Eagles media.

“I believe we will get a good result here. The most important thing is for us to win. We are really focused on that. I’m confident we will be in the World. All we just need is the support of Nigerians.”

The highly anticipated encounter will kick-off at 5pm Nigerian time.
