The head coach of Benin Republic, Gernot Rohr, will be without two key players for their last 2026 World Cup qualifying game against Nigeria.
Sessi d’Almeida and Yohan Roche will not make the trip to Uyo, the Akwa Ibom state capital after they picked up their second yellow cards in the 1-0 win at Rwanda on Friday.
“We have lost two players (for the match against Nigeria) as a result of a second yellow card.
“But all is possible for the three teams (South Africa, Benin and Nigeria).
“We now have the decision (to win in Uyo) in our hands. This can be a little advantage. But we will see, we will see. Big suspense until the end [of the qualifying series],” Rohr told Osasu.
The Super Eagles will also be without Ademola Lookman, who picked up a booking in the 2-1 win over Lesotho.
