Ahead of a crucial 2026 World Cup qualifying clash, Lesotho captain, Sekhoane Moerane has warned that the Super Eagles of Nigeria should not expect any favour from his team.

Moerane said the Lesotho players will not show any atom of fear against the Super Eagles as they too aim to keep their faint qualification hopes alive.

Lesotho are five points behind Group C leaders Benin and South Africa with two matches to end the qualifying series.

However, they remain mathematically in contention for a place in Mexico, Canada and the United States.

Fielding questions from reporters ahead of the game at the Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane, Moerane emphasized that Lesotho would only respect the Super Eagles.

“Going into tomorrow’s game, we are not going to show fear because one thing we have to do, is not to fear our opponents but we should give them respect,” Moerane said.

“We will be going with a lot of respect but not showing fear and that simple means, we are going to go and give them our best of what we have.

“We are not doing anyone a favour but playing for our country, playing for Basotho.”

Moerane helped his side to draw 1-1 with the Super Eagles in Uyo in November 2023.
