A 25-year-old woman was shot and k!lled outside Blue Downs Magistrate’s Court in Cape Town, South Africa.
Western Cape police said Mfuleni police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the shooting incident which occurred in Bentley Road, Blue Downs on Monday afternoon, May 19, 2025.
It is understood that the woman identified as Edmincha Wildebees, was due to appear in court on drug-related charges shortly before she was gunned down while walking towards her car.
The car, a red VW Polo, had been peppered with bullets.
Police spokesperson Sergeant Wesley Twigg said police members responded to a complaint of a shooting, and upon arrival on the scene, they found the victim inside a vehicle with gunshot wounds to her body.
“The victim was declared deceased on the scene by medical personnel. The motive for the attack forms part of the police investigation, and arrests are yet to be made,” Twigg said.
Twigg said a murder case is being investigated.
Police urged anyone with any information about the shooting incident to contact the police.
