Rapper 50 Cent has once again aimed at his longtime rival, Sean “Diddy” Combs, just a day before the music mogul is set to learn whether he will remain behind bars or regain his freedom.
On Thursday afternoon, 50 Cent posted a satirical but pointed open letter on Instagram addressed directly to Judge Arun Subramanian, who is presiding over Diddy’s case.
In the post, the rapper invoked his decades-long feud with Diddy, warning that the Bad Boy Records founder remains a danger to the public.
“I have had an ongoing dispute with Puffy for over 20 years. He is very dangerous. Multiple times I have feared for my life. I think you should consider the safety of the general public, your honor, before unleashing him upon them,” 50 wrote.
Referencing prosecutors’ recommendation that Diddy serve over 11 years in prison, 50 Cent mocked the music executive’s attempts at rehabilitation while behind bars, including allegedly teaching a business class titled Free Game with Diddy. He argued that “there hasn’t been enough time for him to reform or make any adjustments.”
The post also aimed at Diddy’s son, Christian Combs, referencing civil rape allegations against him, and revisited the dramatic federal raid on Diddy’s properties earlier this year. But in typical 50 Cent fashion, the note veered into parody, with the rapper urging the judge to consider “the world’s need for baby oil.”
“Diddy’s only going to return to hiring more male sex workers and keeping most of the baby oil away from the general public. And babies need it!” 50 wrote, adding a plug for his upcoming Netflix documentary on the scandal.
Diddy, who has been in custody for over a year, is facing serious sentencing recommendations. While prosecutors want the court to impose a sentence of more than 11 years, his defence team is seeking a much lighter sentence of about 14 months, with credit for time served.
The court is expected to announce its decision imminently.
