The Presidential Task Force on COVID-19 (PTF) has found that 60 percent of coronavirus cases in the country were registered in 20 local government districts.

PTF chair and secretary of the Federation government, Boss Mustapha, revealed this as he received a N10 million donation of personal protective equipment (PPE) from Rotary District 9125.

Mustapha, represented by General Services Office Permanent Secretary Olusegun Adekunle, listed the local government districts as follows Mainland, Abuja Municipal, Mushin, Eti-Osa, Tarauni, Katsina, Alimosho, Maiduguri, Kosofe, Dutse, Ikeja, Nassarawa, Oshodi/Isolo, Apapa, Amuwo Odofin, Oredo, Bauchi, Lagos Island, Surulere and Ado Odo/Ota.

He blamed poor compliance with health regulations for the increase in the number of cases of coronavirus registered in the country.

said Mustapha;

“We want to make Nigerians aware of the dangers of this development,” Mustapha said. We urge Rotary to help us continue to raise awareness. The risk management team is available to the organization to share strategies.

“The devastating impact of the COVID-19 pandemic was visible to all, including the impact on governance and the economy.

“It is up to us to develop a strategy for a new way of life. Many employees have been absent from the workplace for the past four months. The impact of this situation on the economy is striking.

“The death toll is quite high. We keep telling Nigerians that it is not just about numbers, but about brothers, sisters and colleagues who have passed away.

“Some groups and associations have been working very hard to get this under control. The resources needed to fight the virus are enormous.”
