High level of lawlessness was displayed as the microphone was thrown at Festus Keyamo over the creation of 774,000 jobs which was allocated at about N52billion.

Violence erupts among lawmakers over the creation of 774,000 jobs.

A dramatic display of violence ensued between the minister of state for labour, employment and productivity over the creation of the said Jobs by the National Directorate of Employment.

President Muhammadu Buhari had earlier in the year, instructed that the jobs should be created in the 774 local government areas of the country, with the minister of state for labour, employment and productivity superintending it. Each local government will benefit 1,000 job spaces.

However, there are speculations that some members of the lawmakers are trying to hijack the process of employment.

Other sources stated that the Director-General of the Directorate of Employment Nasiru Ladan could not explain the composition of the #52billion allocated for the projects.

Festus Keyamo has vowed not to allow the lawmakers to control the system of employment.

The minister insists National Assembly cannot give directives on the mode of employment.

Festus Keyamo insists that 1,000 jobs per each 774 LGAs will be allocated based on merit and will not be allocated to political leaders.

NASS committee wanted some issues discussed in the absence of camera while the minister insisted all matters should be discussed in the presence of the media.

We await an official response from both parties.

Thou I am not a fan of the legal juggernaut but what he did was quite applauding.
