An 80-year-old man, Malam Rabiu, has died in a well at Sabon Sara, Gidan Aminu Ado, in Gwale Local Government Area of Kano State.
The Public Relations Officer of the Kano State Fire Service, Saminu Yusif Abdullahi, disclosed this in a statement on Sunday, September 24, 2023.
The PPRO said the corpse was recovered on Sunday morning after six days inside the well.
“Our control room received an emergency call at about 11:00 am from one Hassan Abdullahi, reporting an incident at SABON SARA BY GIDAN AMINU ADO Gwale Local Government Area,” the statement read.
“When our rescue team reached the area, at about 11:07 am, they found that a man of about 80 years old, by name Rabiu, popularly known as Na Allah Siraka, was found in a well after spending six days inside a well in his house,”
Mr. Abdullahi said that Malam Rabiu lived alone in his house.
The spokesperson said the victim was brought out of the well unconscious and later confirmed dead.
The victim’s body was handed over to the Ward head of Sabon Sara Kano City, Muhammad Salisu Imam.
“The cause of the incident is under investigation,” he added.
