Mason Mount has named the best striker in the world ahead of Chelsea’s Premier League clash with Manchester City on Thursday night.
According to Mount, no one scores goals the manner the Norwegian striker Erling Haaland has been scoring since he joined Manchester City from Borussia Dortmund in the summer.
However, the England midfielder warned his team-mates not to solely focus on Haaland.
Haaland has scored an incredible 21 goals across his opening 15 Premier League games for Pep Guardiola’s side.
The Norwegian has scored more Premier League goals than the entire Chelsea team this season.
Speaking ahead of Thursday night’s game, Mount was quizzed about Haaland and he told Sky Sports: “He’s a very good player.
“It’s not just him – they have many good players. We know he can be dangerous…”
Asked if the former Borussia Dortmund striker was one of the best forwards in the world at the moment, the England international added: “Strikers? Yeah.
“I don’t think there’s probably anyone scoring as many goals as him right now or performing the way he is, so he has to be up there, yeah.”
