Manchester United legend Paul Scholes believes the club have unearthed a diamond in Alejandro Garnacho.
The young star came on as a second-half substitute to create Manchester United’s winning goal scored by Marcus Rashford.
Manchester United came from behind to beat Manchester City 2-1 in the Manchester derby and closed the gap to third place to just one point.
Goals from Bruno Fernandes and Rashford sealed the win in the final 12 minutes, cancelling out Jack Grealish’s opener for the Citizens.
The Red Devils regained a foothold in the match after Garnacho was introduced and it was another pulsating run that helped create the winning goal.
“I think we need a special mention for Garnacho as well. I thought he was a massive influence when he came on, ” he told BT Sport.
“He runs through all the time and he makes United look really dangerous.
“I think he’s been brilliant every time I’ve seen him, he’s been a real threat. This lad is direct, he doesn’t care, he has no fear for a young player.”
