According to CalcioMercato, AC Milan are reportedly interested in signing Loftus-Cheek at the end of the season as the player’s contract is set to expire in 15 months’ time.
The Serie A champions have been monitoring Loftus-Cheek for a while and have apparently been in talks with Chelsea since last October when the two sides met in the Champions League group stage.
AC Milan are willing to pay around £22million for the 27-year-old, whose contract with the Blues expires in the summer of 2024.
Loftus-Cheek made his Chelsea debut nearly a decade ago, yet apart from a brief spell under Maurizio Sarri, he has failed to really establish himself in the first team.
He impressed during his loan spells at Crystal Palace and Fulham, respectively.
Loftus-Cheek is down the pecking order at Stamford Bridge under manager Graham Potter as he is behind the likes of Enzo Fernandez, Mateo Kovacic and N’Golo Kante.
With Chelsea co-owner Todd Boehly looking to sell off any unwanted assets in the summer to reduce his squad, Loftus-Cheek is likely to be one of the first out the exit door.
