Former Liverpool man, Glen Johnson has told Jurgen Klopp to make the move to bring Mateo Kovacic to Anfield if Chelsea decide to sell the Croatian midfielder in the summer.
The Reds have been linked with a move for the Croatia international and Johnson, who played for both Liverpool and Chelsea, says Kovacic would be well suited.
Manchester City are said to be interested in the 28-year-old, just as much as Bayern Munich now managed by former Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel.
The Croatian international is out of contract in the summer of 2024 and former Liverpool man Johnson feels the player is underrated at Stamford Bridge.
“Mateo Kovacic is a top class player so the interest is no surprise,” Johnson told Lord Ping.
“If he leaves Chelsea, he would suit Liverpool very well.
“Jurgen Klopp will love the way he plays,” he added.
Chelsea have reportedly listed 8 of their top players for sale and Kovacic is named among the stars to likely leave Stamford Bridge this summer.
The Croatian has not disappointed Chelsea fans since he moved to Stamford Bridge from Real Madrid.
