Enyimba forward, Chukwuemeka Obioma and his Bendel Insurance rival, Imade Osarenkhoe are in a tough battle for the top scorer’s gong in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) this season.

Obioma tops the chart with nine goals, while Imade has netted eight times.

The two strikers faced each other for the first time this season last weekend when Enyimba entertained Insurance at their fortress in Aba.

Obioma put Enyimba ahead from the penalty spot in the first half.

Imade responded by equalising for the Benin Arsenals with a sumptuous free-kick 10 minutes from time.

The duo were on target again for their respective clubs on Wednesday.

Obioma scored again from the spot in Enyimba’s 1-1 home draw against Nasarawa United.

Imade didn’t allow his rival to outshine him as he also netted in his club’s 1-1 draw at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, Benin City.

Chijioke Akuneto was top scorer in the NPFL last season with 19 goals.

The two players no doubt will be out to better that record.
