Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher has shed light on a special message from their manager Frank Lampard before their Premier League clash against Bournemouth on Saturday.
Chelsea were defeated in six consecutive games going into the match against Bournemouth as it was six losses out of six games under Frank Lampard.
However, they turned out to earn a 3-1 away victory at the Vitality Stadium and it did bring about a breath of fresh air for the west London giants.
Gallagher put the away team in front in the first half before Benoit Badiashile and Joao Felix handed the Blues all three points.
And after the game, Gallagher revealed that interim head coach Lampard charged his team to be clinical in front of goal.
“The main message from the boss was that we needed to be more clinical and more ruthless in the final third,” he told the BBC.
“So to get three goals today was great and shows that the stuff we’re been working on has worked.”
