Gunmen suspected to be kidnappers have abducted a couple along the Ode-Omu-Gbongan road in Ayedaade Local Government Area of Osun State.
Eyewitnesses revealed that the couple were kidnapped on Monday, May 8, 2023 around 5 am at Oogi Ojudo town.
The couple were travelling from Lagos to Osogbo, where they went to purchase some goods when the kidnappers swooped on them and whisked them into the bush.
The husband reportedly escaped from the kidnappers’ den, while the wife remains in captivity.
Spokesperson of the State Police Command, Yemisi Opalola, who confirmed the incident said that the police were on the trail of the kidnappers.
“I assure you that search and rescue operations have commenced and the police personnel are on the trail of the kidnappers,” the PPRO added.
