A Family Magistrate’s Court sitting at Oke-Eda, Akure on Tuesday, September 12, remanded a 36-year-old man, Daisi Alade, in Olokuta Correctional Centre, for allegedly defiling a 12-year-old girl.

The police prosecutor, Martins Olowofeso, informed the court that the defendant committed the offence at about 10 pm on August 27, 2023, along Mahin/Igbokoda road, Ugbonla, Ondo State.
Olowofeso said Alade lured the 12-year-old girl (name withheld), to a nearby bush and had carnal knowledge of her without her consent.
He said the girl was rescued by neighbours who heard her screaming from their apartment, but Alade had already molested her.
