Troops of Operation SAFE HAVEN (OPSH) have re-arrested three prisoners who escaped during a jail break in Mangu Local Government Area of Plateau State between October 3 and 9.
Ten other criminals were also arrested in connection with kidnapping, prison break, cattle rustling. Arms/ammunitions and illicit drugs were recovered.
The prisoners, Chekirmak Tapir, Senmacong Tapir and Swaroong Tapir were rearrested at Barkin Ciyawa, Qua’pan Local Government Area of Plateau State.
The troops also foiled an attack on Washina and Razak villages in Mangu and Barkin Ladi councils. The gunmen were engaged in a gun duel, forcing them to flee. One of them was however captured.
Also, the tactical team of Operation SAFE HAVEN arrested a notorious kidnapper, Buba Ibrahim, at Tilden Fulani Village in Toro council of Bauchi State, and recovered one Baretta pistol from him.
A statement by the spokesman, Capt. James Oya, said troops also arrested one Williams Seaman in connection with the attack on one Nanbak Ayuba at his home in Shorom village, Bokkos council. One locally-made pistol, two rounds and one empty case of 9mm were recovered.
A total of 13 arrests were effected, four victims rescued from kidnappers, one cattle rustler arrested, seven drug peddlers nabbed, and two attacks on vulnerable communities foiled during the period under review.
