A yet-to-be-identified truck collided with the pedestrian bridge at Alapere Estate, Ketu axis of Lagos in the wee hours of Friday.

This was according to a video posted by an X user simply identified as Umar-Farouq Ogbe, around midnight on Friday.

Ogbe, who claimed to be a resident of Alapere Estate, stated that his friend initially sent the first video to the Estate’s Whatsapp group chat.

However, the spokesperson for the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority, Adebayo Taofeek, confirmed the incident to the newsmen.

He said,

“Yes, information reaching me is that a truck loaded with metal and was too high got stuck under the bridge, leading to the collapse of the bridge, with the debris causing serious gridlock at the Ketu-Alapere axis of Lagos State, inward Berger.”
