Salifu Obaje, the brother of deceased corps member, Mamudo Saidu Obaje, has called out the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Katsina State, for allegedly covering up the cause of his death.

NYSC had debunked a report of Obaje being killed by bandits, claiming that he died in a motor accident.

Recall that a colleague and friend of the deceased corps member, Asta Matthew, had claimed in a Facebook post on Sunday, January 7, 2024, that Obaje, was killed on his way from Kaduna to Katsina for monthly clearance.

However, Salifu Obaje, in a Facebook post a few days ago, insisted that his brother was killed by bandits, describing NYSC Katsina’s alleged cover-up as a ‘shame and a disgrace’

“Saidu, my blood my brother, I wish you a perfect eternal rest. You were on a national assignment when you were attacked and killed by bandits in Katsina State, but NYSC Katsina State reported to us that you died of accident,” he wrote.

It is a very big shame and disgrace to NYSC Katsina State for having a cover up over someone who was killed by bandits.

You had a great fight with them but overpowered you with their weapons, as you were seen with lots of cuts and wounds on your head after a terrible fight with the Bandits.

I am very sorry because I was not there to help fight them with you. Saidu, you are forever in my heart.

I rushed and embarked on a journey when I heard of your death, in the process, I lost my phone inside the car.

My brother, you killers will not know peace, and I promise they will follow you too.

You were killed on 04/01/2024 and buried today 10/01/2024…what a very bad way to start the year.
