Former Liverpool star, Dietmar Hamann has slammed Cristiano Ronaldo following his attitude at the just concluded Euro 2024 championship, claiming Lionel Messi would not behave like the Portuguese.

The 39-year-old former Manchester United, Real Madrid and Juventus star did not perform up to the expectation of fans at the championship, making just too little contribution to Portugal.

Hamann slammed Ronaldo over what he described as his individualistic nature, telling TopOffshoreSportsBooks, “it’s not about his mentality, but you’ve got to think about the team first.

“I can tell you one thing, they’ve been the best players in the world for the last 20 years but if Messi was in a state where he couldn’t help the team anymore, He would 100% not insist on playing.”

Portugal crashed out of the competition having suffered a 5-3 loss on penalty shootout after a goalless draw.
