‘I will always stand with the people’ – Simi backs nationwide protests

Singer, Simi has expressed her support for Nigerians over the ongoing nationwide hunger protests.

NEWSUNPLUG reports that many Nigerians have taken to the streets to protest against hunger and poor governance across the country.

The 10 days nationwide protests tagged #EndBadGovernance, commenced on Thursday, August 1 2024.

The demonstrations sparked a heated debate on social media, with many criticizing celebrities for not using their platforms to support the movement.

Amid the ongoing clashes between celebrities and netizens’ who question their commitment to advocating for social change, Simi voiced her solidarity with the protesters.

In a now viral tweet, she wrote; “I will ALWAYS stand with my people #EndBadGovernanceInNigeria.”
