The Kwara State Command has arrested a man, Ekene Enemor for the gruesome m8rder of his wife, Esther Enemor in Egbejila community, Ilorin.
The State Commissioner of Police, Adekimi Ojo, disclosed this during a press briefing at the command headquarters on Thursday, September 4, 2025.
According to the CP, a vigilant neighbour, Ahmed Salman, raised the alarm after noticing a suspicious individual locking the Enemors’ house while Esther was reportedly inside.
When questioned, the stranger claimed to be the younger brother of Ekene, who resides with his family in Moshe Gada village.
Unsatisfied with the explanation, Salman knocked on the door but received no response. He then noticed bloodstains on the fence and wall, prompting him to alert other neighbours.
A search of the premises led to the shocking discovery of Esther’s mutilated body, dismembered from the neck to the waist, with the head and arms missing.
Further search efforts uncovered additional body parts, from the waist to the thigh, hidden under a culvert, also without legs.
Police investigations led to the arrest of Ekene Enemor, who confessed to k!lling his wife.
“On August 22, 2025 at about 3 pm, one Ahmed Salman, of Temidire 6, off Egbejila community, reported at Budo Nuhu Police Station that on the same date at about 6:30 am, he challenged somebody who was locking the door of his neighbour while the wife, popularly called “Iya Ibo,” was still inside,” the CP stated.
“The person introduced himself as the younger brother to the owner of the house, one Mr. Ekene Enemor, who is based in Moshe Gada village via Kaiama along with his family.
“Mr. Ahmed Salman was not satisfied with the explanation. He then knocked on the door to call Mrs. Esther but got no response.
“In the process, he saw traces of bloodstains on the fence and on the wall of the house. He then raised an alarm which attracted other neighbours.
“A search was conducted around the house and, tragically, the mutilated body of Mrs. Esther Enemor was found, from the neck to waist, without her head and both hands.
“Further combing of the environment led to the recovery of another part of her body, from the waist to the thigh, which was discovered hidden under a culvert in the area, also without her legs.
“Upon the report of the incident, the deceased’s husband was contacted at Moshe Gada village, Kaiama, while his younger brother, Sylvester Enemor, of the same village, was also arrested.
“The case was transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for further investigation.
“Discreet investigation led to the arrest of Mr. Ekene Enemor, husband to the deceased.
During comprehensive interrogation, it was discovered that he had a direct hand in the d3ath of his wife.
“He has confessed to the commission of the crime, while investigation is ongoing to track and apprehend other suspects currently at large,” the CP added.
