Manchester United legend, Roy Keane, has slammed Luke Shaw, accusing the England international of ‘throwing in the towel’ during their defeat to Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday.

As pundits and fans have noted, nothing has changed from Manchester United they saw last season as their poor form continues despite signing some new players in the summer.

They were beaten 3-0 by Manchester City on Sunday to make it two defeats in four games in the new season.

England forward Phil Foden put netted the first of the three goals in the first and Erling Haaland scored twi second half goals to seal the victory for Pep Guardiola’s side.

Before providing the cross for Foden’s goal, Doku skipped past Luke Shaw effortlessly.

Keane told Sky Sports: “United’s defending, the two midfielders are too square and Luke Shaw just gives up.

“It’s a nice bit of skill but Shaw’s an England international player, hundreds of games under his belt and he doesn’t even get his body position right.

“It’s far too easy, it’s like he’s thrown the towel in. We know people can run off the back off Bruno, that’s been going on for years, but my goodness…

“Shaw just throws the towel in there.”

This is the first historic goal to be registered under the names of Spain’s players in the World Cup qualifiers, due to the incredible way in which they scored this unbelievable goal.
