The Nigeria Football Federation has celebrated Super Eagles goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie for her remarkable feat at the 2025 Ballon d’Or award.

Recall that Nnadozie finished fourth in the women’s Goalkeeper of the Year category on Monday night.

The award was won by Chelsea and England goalkeeper, Hannah Hampton.

Chelsea’s midfielder Cole Palmer wrote his name into the history book of the Ballon d’Or after he was listed in the top ten best players in the world.

Cole Palmer finished in eighth place amongst the final 30 players that waa shortlisted for the prestigious award. The England international became the first player since 2011 to finish in the top ten of the rankings without playing Champions League football.

The last player to achieve the feat was Neymar 14 years ago, the former PSG and Barcelona winger was playing for Brazilian side Santos at the time. He had already made a big impact despite that he was playing outside of Europe’s top five leagues.

He went on to play for Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain before completing a high-profile move to Saudi Arabia.

Who won the 2025 Ballon d’Or trophy?

Paris Saint-Germain player Ousmane Dembele was named the winner of the award which is the first his career. He was key in helping PSG win their first UEFA Champions League title last season, and also lifted the Ligue 1.

Barcelona’s Lamine Yamal finished in second place while Dembele’s teammate Vitinha was in third place while Mohamed Salah came in fourth place.
