Zimbabwe coach, Michael Nees, has named Nigeria and Egypt as the best attacking teams in Africa.

Nees, whose country could not make it to the 2026 World Cup, has turned his attention to the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.

The Warriors will play Egypt, South Africa and Angola in the Group Stage Morocco of the AFCON having endured a challenging 2026 Fifa World Cup qualifying campaign.

Zimbabwe were in Group C alongside Nigeria, South Africa, Benin Republic, Lesotho and Rwanda.

They finished bottom of the group after recording five draws.

Despite suffering points deduction from FIFA, South Africa picked the automatic ticket of the group while Nigeria finished in the playoff zone.

The German said that Egypt and Nigeria are the two most potent attacking sides in Africa as he reflected on the strength of the opposition Zimbabwe faced in their Africa Cup of Nations group.

“We are in a very difficult group. We have South Africa, very strong, we saw last Friday. We managed to hold them.

“Egypt with Nigeria the best attacking team in Africa, Angola a very dangerous team.

“Every team that plays at the Afcon wants to go to the second round. I don’t think there’s any team that goes there to play three games and go home,” he said.
