The Gombe State Police Command has arrested a 15-year-old boy, Abubakar Aliyu, of Tudun Wada Shamaki Quarters, for allegedly carrying out a series of armed robberies and thefts within the Federal Low-Cost area of Gombe metropolis.
The suspect was apprehended following a swift investigation launched after a robbery incident reported on October 15, 2025.
The spokesperson of the command, DSP Buhari Abdullahi, who disclosed this in a statement on Wednesday, October 22, said the arrest led to the recovery of valuable items, including an iPhone 13 Pro Max, an Apple MacBook, and other stolen items.
“The Gombe State Police Command wishes to inform the general public of a significant breakthrough recorded by the Command through the arrest of a suspect involved in a case of armed robbery and theft within the Federal Low-Cost area of Gombe Metropolis,” the statement read.
“On 15th October, 2025, at about 1100hrs, a female resident of Federal Low-Cost, Gombe, reported at the Divisional Police Headquarters that on the same date at about 0230hrs, she was attacked by an unknown person armed with a knife, who robbed her of the following items: iPhone 13 Pro Max valued at N800,000, Apple MacBook laptop valued at N250,000, Apple Watch valued at N35,000, Oraimo Power Bank valued at N30,000 and a pink school bag valued at N25,000.
“Upon receipt of the report, the Police swiftly launched an investigation, which led to the arrest of the suspect and successful recovery of all the exhibits.
“Subsequently, the suspect voluntarily confessed to the crime and revealed that on 8th October, 2025, he conspired with one Hadi (surname unknown), now at large, and broke into the residence of another female victim at Federal Low-Cost, where they stole the following items: Samsung Fold 3 valued at N800,000, Tab 80 (Black View) valued at N140,000, two rings valued at N40,000, counter valued at N20,000 and a car key.
“Some of the above-mentioned exhibits, including the Samsung Fold 3 and Tab 80 Black View, have been recovered. The case is still under investigation, and efforts are ongoing to apprehend the fleeing accomplice.
“The Commissioner of Police, Gombe State Command, CP Bello Yahaya, psc+, commended the officers for their swift response and professionalism. He also urged members of the public to continue to support the Police by providing useful information that can aid in the prevention and detection of crimes across the State.
“Members of the public are further advised to promptly report any suspicious persons or activities to the nearest police station.”
