The match, which is expected to be intense given both nations’ ambitions to secure early qualification points, will be handled by one of Africa’s most respected sets of officials. The referee, hailing from South Africa, will be assisted by fellow countrymen who will serve as the first and second assistant referees, while another South African official will act as the fourth official.

This all-South African lineup highlights CAF’s trust in the nation’s refereeing system, which has consistently produced competent and impartial match officials for major continental and international fixtures.

CAF’s choice also demonstrates a broader commitment to fairness, professionalism, and the elevation of officiating standards across African football. The winner of the game will play the winner of the second semi-final game between Cameroon and DR Congo.
