Ex-England striker, Alan Shearer, has said Manchester City will “most likely” challenge Arsenal for the Premier League title this season.
Over the weekend, City lost 2-1 at Newcastle United, a day before Arsenal thrashed Tottenham 4-1.
These results means the Gunners are seven points ahead of Pep Guardiola’s men.
Arsenal are, however, six points ahead of Chelsea, who they play this weekend.
When asked to name the team Mikel Arteta’s team should worry about, Shearer said on The Rest Is Football podcast: “I would still say City.
“We’ve seen City after Christmas before do it, they’re used to it and they can do it, we know that.
“I know it’s different and, defensively, they’re certainly not as good as they have been.
“But because they’ve been there and they know what to do, they know what to expect and everything else, I would still say Manchester City.”
