Former Liverpool captain, Steven Gerrard, has told manager, Arne Slot that he has to find answers to the team’s problems.
Gerrard was analyzing the Reds’ 4-1 defeat to PSV in the Champions League on Wednesday night.
Ivan Perisic opened the scoring from the spot in the 6th minute, before Dominik Szoboszlai equalized 10 minutes later.
Guus Til made it 2-1 after the break, before Couhaib Driouech grabbed a brace to seal a historic win at Anfield.
The defeat makes it nine in 12 matches for Liverpool – their worst run in over 70 years.
“With each defeat it gets closer to being a crisis,” Gerrard said.
“Liverpool still have magnificent players, this squad won the league. There is no excuses for a performance like that at this football club.
“You cannot deny the team is struggling massively, they are on a terrible run, their confidence is at an all-time low, they are wide open.
“Unless the manager can find answers and stability in his team, then this situation is going to continue.”
