Former Arsenal forward, Theo Walcott has picked Chelsea’s Reece James as the player of the match during both sides’ Premier League 1-1 draw on Sunday.
Walcott also hailed James as a leader, adding that the England international was outstanding against the Gunners.
Recall that James was impressive in the midfield following Moises Caicedo’s red card.
Trevor Chalobah’s goal and a strike from Mikel Merino ensured both teams got a point each at Stamford Bridge.
“There have been questions in the past, is he a leader, is he a captain. He clearly is on today’s performance,” Walcott told Sky Sports about James.
“Playing against Declan Rice and having Caicedo next to him, he was the player of the match.
“In an Arsenal sense, they will be disappointed they didn’t test him enough. He was outstanding today from start to finish.”
