Nollywood star Funke Akindele has reached another impressive milestone with her latest film, Behind The Scene.
Following its premiere a few weeks ago, Akindele even took some of the cast abroad to promote the movie.
Filmone shared the exciting update on Instagram, noting that the actress who had been rumored to have a disagreement with a fellow actor continues to make history.
Behind The Scene quickly became the fastest Nollywood film to reach N500 million at the box office and was also the top-performing movie over the weekend. According to Filmone, the film has earned a total of N512 million, marking a historic achievement. They also thanked West African audiences for their support and for turning out in large numbers.
Fans expressed their excitement online, describing the movie as an emotional journey, with some revealing they were moved to tears. Akindele received widespread praise, with admirers calling her a “trailblazer,” “OG,” and “one of the realest” in Nollywood.
This record-breaking feat is not new for Akindele. In 2024, her film Everyone Loves Jennifa grossed N513 million, breaking multiple records, including being the fastest Nollywood film to reach N500 million and the top-grossing movie of its release weekend.
