Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen has resolved his recent dispute with football analyst Bi Bernard, days after their disagreement played out on social media.
The fallout followed Nigeria’s round-of-16 victory over Mozambique at the 2026 Africa Cup of Nations. During the match, Osimhen was seen in a tense on-field exchange with fellow teammate Ademola Lookman, an incident that quickly drew public attention and dominated post-match discussions.
Bi Bernard later weighed in on the situation, criticising Osimhen’s reaction and describing it as unnecessary. After his comments gained traction online, the analyst disclosed that the Napoli forward had blocked him on Instagram.
Visibly frustrated, Bernard released a video questioning why Osimhen reacted so strongly, insisting that his remarks were simply fair and professional criticism.
However, in a fresh update shared on January 8, 2025, Bernard confirmed that the misunderstanding between both parties has now been settled.
He explained that the reconciliation came after the intervention of former Super Eagles midfielder Ogenyi Onazi and popular comedian AY, who reportedly reached out to both men privately.
According to Bernard, they were encouraged to put the issue behind them in the interest of unity, especially with the Africa Cup of Nations still ongoing.
In a video posted on Instagram, Bernard revealed that Osimhen unblocked him and also followed him back, signalling that the matter had been resolved.
He added that they had a calm discussion in the early hours of the morning, where both parties shared their viewpoints.
“We’re cool now. Osimhen and I spoke this morning. Everything has been settled. Shoutout to Onazi and AY they made this happen,” he said.
Bernard further noted that the conversation helped him understand that Osimhen has been under pressure from different directions, which may have influenced his earlier reaction.
