Liverpool legend, Jamie Carragher has heaped plaudits on Taiwo Awoniyi after the striker inspired the club’s away win at Brentford on Sunday, NEWSUNPLUG reports.
Awoniyi scored the Tricky Trees second goal of the thrilling contest.
It was the Nigeria international’s first top-flight goal for more than a year.
After receiving the ball from Morgan Gibbs-White, the forward went on a terrific run before slotting the ball past Caoimhin Kelleher.
Forest moved five points clear of the relegation zone following the win.
Carragher raved about Awoniyi’s goal after the game.
“What a goal, absolutely fantastic, it’s exactly what you want your striker to do. He’s just come on, he’s full of running, he’s fresh, and he’s powerful,” he said on Sky Sports.
