Bundesliga club, SV Hamburg have sealed a move for highly rated Nigerian winger Philip Otele, NEWSUNPLUG reports.
Otele linked up with HSV on loan from Swiss club FC Basel with an option to buy at the end of the season.
Hamburg paid €1.5m as loan fee, and will pay a further €4.5m to make the deal permanent.
The 26-year-old is leaving FC Basel after less than a year following his arrival from UAE club, Al Wehda.
The versatile winger scored 18 goals and provided eight assists in 53 competitive matches for Basel.
Otele, who will wear the number 27 jersey at his new club was named in Nigeria’s provisional squad for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.
Hamburg are 13th in the Bundesliga standings with 29 points from as many matches.
