Nasarawa United players were gifted N500,000 as reward for their home win over Ikorodu City, NEWSUNPLUG reports.

Nasarawa State’s Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Kwanta Yakubu, made the donation to the team after the keenly contested encounter at the Lafia City Stadium on Sunday.

Bright Amadi scored the winning goal seven minutes from time.

Yakubu said the gesture is to motivate the players ahead of subsequent games.

The win lifted Nasarawa United to third position on the table.

Mbwas Mangut’s side will travel to Ikenne for their next game against defending champions Remo Stars.
