Here is every player expected to miss the England vs Norway 2026 World Cup quarter-finals fixture due to injury or suspension.

Tuchel’s side will head into their 2026 FIFA World Cup quarter-final fixture (England vs Norway) with several injury and suspension concerns, while their Scandinavian opponents have a fully fit squad available for the blockbuster clash in Miami.

Three Lions manager Thomas Tuchel has been forced to contend with key absences in defence and midfield following England’s dramatic 3-2 Round of 16 victory over Mexico.

Central defender Jarell Quansah will miss the quarter-final after receiving a straight red card for a high tackle against Mexico, resulting in a one-match suspension.

England have also been dealt a significant blow with the loss of experienced midfielder Jordan Henderson, who has been ruled out for the remainder of the tournament. Henderson suffered a wrist fracture during the team’s post-match celebrations following the win over Mexico and has since undergone surgery.

Tuchel is also monitoring the fitness of several first-team players ahead of kick-off.

Declan Rice remains a doubt after illness forced him to miss part of England’s training sessions earlier in the week. Should the Arsenal midfielder fail to recover in time, Kobbie Mainoo is expected to partner Elliot Anderson in central midfield.

Marc Guéhi is another major concern after sustaining a hamstring problem. The defender faces a late fitness assessment, with Ezri Konsa or John Stones ready to fill the vacancy if he is unavailable.

At right-back, Reece James is unlikely to feature after missing England’s previous three matches with a persistent tendon injury. Djed Spence is expected to continue in the starting lineup if James fails to recover.

In contrast, Norway enter the last-eight encounter without any injury or suspension concerns.

Manager Ståle Solbakken has confirmed that his entire squad is available for selection. Left-back David Møller Wolfe, who picked up a minor knock during Norway’s 2-1 victory over Brazil in the Round of 16, has returned to full training and is expected to start.

Norway will also be boosted by the availability of captain Martin Ødegaard and tournament top scorer Erling Haaland, who has already netted seven goals at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

With a place in the semi-finals at stake, England will hope their injury concerns do not derail their campaign against a Norway side arriving with a fully fit squad.
