Africa has built a proud and growing legacy on the global football stage, with several nations consistently flying the continent’s flag at the FIFA World Cup.

From Cameroon’s historic quarterfinal run in 1990 to Morocco’s groundbreaking semifinal appearance in 2022, African teams have continued to deliver unforgettable moments, passionate performances and world-class talent.

According to FIFA’s World Cup records and qualification data, these are the African countries with the most appearances at the tournament, including teams that qualified for the 2026 edition.
