U.S. President Donald Trump is scheduled for his annual dental and medical evaluations on May 26 at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, according to a White House announcement on Monday. The administration stated that the visit is part of his “regular preventive health care” and will include routine assessments.
Trump, who turns 80 next month, has consistently maintained that he is in excellent mental and physical health, frequently telling the press he “feels literally the same” as he did 50 years ago.
The upcoming checkup follows significant scrutiny regarding the President’s physical condition. In October 2025, his physician, Navy Captain Sean Barbabella, reported that advanced ECG-based metrics placed Trump’s “cardiac age” at 14 years younger than his chronological age.
Despite this positive report, public questions have persisted due to visible bruising on his right hand, which the White House attributes to his daily aspirin regimen and frequent handshaking, and a diagnosis of chronic venous insufficiency last summer after he was evaluated for leg swelling.
While Trump’s medical team has described him as “fully fit,” his health remains a central point of political discussion. In April 2026, some members of Congress called for a comprehensive cognitive assessment, citing his increasingly volatile public outbursts.
However, in his last publicized physical in April 2025, Trump reportedly achieved a perfect score of 30/30 on the Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA). The May 26 evaluation will take place shortly after his expected return from a high-stakes summit in Beijing with Chinese leader Xi Jinping.
