Atletico Madrid goalkeeper, Jan Oblak, has revealed that teammate, Antoine Griezmann should have won a Ballon d’Or in his career.
Oblak described the France international, who will leave Atletico Madrid in the summer for Orlando City, as a spectacular footballer.
The Slovenia shot-stopper spoke to reporters after Atletico Madrid defeated Girona 1-0 in the LaLiga on Sunday.
The match against Girona was Griezmann’s final home match for Atletico as he will depart Diego Simeone’s side for Orlando City in the summer.
“To enjoy his [Griezmann’s] football and his magic. He’s spectacular and should have won a Ballon d’Or,” Oblak said.
“I’m happy with his career. He still has years left in the USA, where they’ll enjoy watching him play.”
Griezmann came close to winning a Ballon d’Or in 2016 and 2018, respectively.
The Frenchman finished third in the Ballon d’Or voting, behind Cristiano Ronaldo in 2016 and Luka Modric in 2018.
