Kelechi Iheanacho was the hero as Leicester City edged past League Two side Gillingham 1-0 in an FA Cup third round tie at the Priestfield Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

Iheanacho scored the winning goal four minutes before the hour mark after Jamie Vardy set him up.

Since the Nigeria international’s debut in the competition in 2016 for Manchester City, no player has scored more goals than him in the competition.

The 26-year-old has now netted 16 times in 22 games in the competition.

Iheanacho’s international teammate, Wilfred Ndidi featured as a substitute in the game.

Ndidi replaced Senegal midfielder, Namplays Mendy nine minutes from time.

At the Selhurst Park, Joe Aribo put up a fine performance in Southampton’s 2-1 win against Crystal Palace.

Aribo was in action for 87 minutes before he was replaced by Ibrahima Diallo.

In another FA Cup game, Maduka Okoye was in goal as Watford crashed out after
going down 2-0 to Reading at the Select Car Leasing Stadium.
