President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has named Professor Segun Aina as the incoming Registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), positioning him to succeed Professor Ishaq Oloyede when his tenure concludes on July 31, 2026.
The announcement was made on Thursday in a statement issued by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.
According to the statement, the appointment is part of the administration’s efforts to strengthen Nigeria’s education sector through digital innovation, institutional reform, and improved examination processes.
Professor Aina is a Computer Engineering scholar at Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, with extensive experience in digital systems, national examination frameworks, and public sector reform initiatives.
He obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Computer Systems Engineering from the University of Kent, a Master’s degree in Internet Computing and Network Security, and a PhD in Digital Signal Processing from Loughborough University, United Kingdom. He has also completed the Senior Management Programme at the Lagos Business School.
