Nigerian cleric David Ibiyeomie has called on citizens to prioritize visionary leadership in future elections, warning that the country’s economic situation could worsen if poor leadership choices continue.

In a recent public message, the pastor referenced the sharp depreciation of the naira over the past several years, comparing its past value to its current exchange rate and suggesting that continued economic mismanagement could lead to further instability.

He urged Nigerians to look beyond political parties and instead focus on individuals with clear developmental plans for the country, criticizing what he described as opportunistic movement among politicians who frequently switch parties based on personal interest rather than ideology or service delivery.

The cleric also condemned what he characterized as transactional politics, including the influence of money during elections, advising citizens to resist financial inducement and make principled voting decisions.

He further emphasized his position as a preacher rather than a political campaigner, stating that his appeal was based on moral conviction and concern for national progress.
