Super Eagles captain Wilfred Ndidi says Wednesday’s friendly against Portugal will be a good test for the team, NEWSUNPLUG reports.

Éric Chelle’s side head into the contest in buoyant mood with four wins, and two draws from their last six games.

The Super Eagles have also lost once in regulation time in 24 matches since Chelle took charge of the team in January 2025.

World Cup-bound Portugal are expected to be a tough nut to crack for the three-time African champions but Ndidi insisted that they are ready for the challenge.

“It will be a very good test for us, we faced the first test against Poland, and Portugal is a great team with great players as well,” Ndidi told a press conference in Leiria on Tuesday.

“It will be a massive test for us as a group, to our vision, to our aim as a team, to our growth. It will definitely be a good test for us .

“We don’t know care who are playing, even we are playing against the biggest countries in the world, the most important thing is that as players we are ready to win. We look forward to taking our philosophy, and strategy to the game.”

Portugal thrashed the Super Eagles 4-0 in the first meeting between both countries four years ago.
