Nigerian comedian, Bright Okpocha, popularly known as Basketmouth, has celebrated his birthday with an emotional reflection on the experiences that have shaped his personal and professional journey.
The stand-up comedian marked the occasion on Monday by sharing a series of humorous photographs on social media alongside a message expressing gratitude for his life, growth and the people around him.
Basketmouth described his journey as one filled with memorable moments as well as periods he found difficult to understand, while crediting God for remaining faithful throughout the different phases.
Basketmouth reflects on life’s highs and lows
Sharing his thoughts on his birthday, Basketmouth said, “The journey has been interesting, sometimes confusing. I’ve experienced great times and some interesting times. But through it all, God has remained faithful and merciful.”
The entertainer said he had learnt to appreciate not only the experiences he understands but also those whose meaning remains unclear to him.
He added, “I’m grateful for the lessons, the growth, the moments I understand, and even the ones I still don’t.”
Comedian speaks about finding love and peace
Basketmouth went on to reveal that despite the different experiences along the way, he would not choose to rewrite his journey because of where it ultimately brought him.
He wrote, “I honestly wouldn’t change the journey, because somehow, it brought me exactly where I am today. To the people I’m with, the love I’ve found, and the peace I’ve always longed for.”
The comedian concluded his message by expressing gratitude to God for the person he has become while acknowledging that his personal growth remains ongoing.
