Nollywood actress Bisola Aiyeola has opened up about her views on marriage, stating that although she is open to getting married, she does not consider it the most important aspect of her life.
The actress shared her thoughts when asked whether she believes in marriage, explaining that she is content with her life and does not feel pressured to get married.
According to Bisola, marriage is something she would embrace if it happens, but it is not the foundation of her existence.
“For me, if marriage comes, I will get married. But it is not the core of my existence. I mean, I’m doing pretty good. I have a 17-year-old daughter. Being a single parent and looking after my daughter, I still let her know that being a single parent is not that easy. That’s not what you should aspire to be. Bearing the whole load of raising a child shouldn’t be for one person alone. I turned 40 in January, and this is the best time of my life,” she said.
The actress also spoke about the realities of raising a child as a single parent, noting that it comes with significant responsibilities that should not fall on one person alone.
Bisola explained that she makes her daughter understand the challenges of single parenthood, emphasising that raising a child is a responsibility that should ideally be shared by both parents.
Despite the challenges, the actress expressed satisfaction with her current stage of life, describing it as her best time yet.
Her remarks highlight her willingness to embrace marriage if the opportunity arises while maintaining that her happiness and fulfilment are not dependent on being married.
