Nigerian rapper Odumodublvck has claimed that he played a significant role in introducing Arsenal midfielder Declan Rice to Nigerians, insisting that the footballer gained widespread attention in the country after he released a song about him.
The rapper made the claim while reflecting on the impact of his music and how it helped bring the England international into the spotlight among Nigerian music lovers and football fans.
According to Odumodublvck, many Nigerians were unfamiliar with Declan Rice before he released a song referencing the football star.
He stated that his song helped popularise the footballer’s name in Nigeria, adding that Arsenal later discovered and signed him.
“I introduced Declan Rice to Nigerians. Before I sang about him, nobody knew about him. It was after I sang about him that he blew up, and Arsenal discovered and signed him,” Odumodublvck said.
His comment has sparked conversations about the influence of music on football culture and the rapper’s connection to the Premier League club.
